Mr. Smith will be based in Javelin’s Houston office where he will be responsible for managing the Company's trading and investments in oil, natural gas liquids and refined products in North America, integrating these assets within Javelin’s trading platform, and expanding Javelin’s asset footprint across commodities.
Prior to joining Javelin, Mr. Smith has had a 30 year career within the North American energy and refining industry where he recently served as Vice President of Refining, Crude Supply, Products & Planning at LyondellBasell Industries (“Lyondell”) 275 thousand barrel per day refinery in Houston, Texas where he oversaw the commercial sale and trading of refined products and purchases of crude as well as strategic investments. In addition, Mr. Smith also led multiple strategic investments and partnerships for Lyondell. Prior to Lyondell, Mr. Smith held various positions at Citgo, Koch and Total. Mr. Smith holds a BS and MS in Chemical Engineering from Texas Tech University.
