Javelin hosted its first Charity Day on Monday 15 May, 2017. The company sponsored the tri-service charity The Not Forgotten Association enabling over 50 veterans, carers and members of family to join Javelin employees on the famous Bluebell Railway.
The Not Forgotten Association provides entertainment and recreation for the benefit of the serving wounded, injured or sick and for ex-service men and women with disabilities. It’s a super, dynamic charity where each pound makes a difference to real people who have given a lot to their country and we are proud to support it.
The highlight was meeting 98 year old Jo Lancaster from Bomber Command, who enjoyed the on board Ploughman's lunch while travelling through the idyllic Sussex countryside.
Unfortunately the steam train wasn't fired by coal supplied by Javelin, as it requires anthracite coal.
