The World Petroleum Council commissioned ITN to produce a film 'The Journey of the Drop' which was launched at the WPC Future Leader's Forum in Rio de Janeiro in October 2016. As world experts in coal, Javelin was approached to participate in this film anchored by Natasha Kaplinsky. The film challenges the perceptions of the oil and gas industry around the world and explores the opportunities for sustainable growth.
Javelin CEO, Peter Bradley, explains how coal fits into the total energy picture. As governments across the world move towards alternative methods of energy production, there are concerns about the consequences of this push for renewable energy. In the developing world the demand for coal remains high, and in the Western Hemisphere, energy suppliers continue to rely on coal to provide stability to the electricity grid and job prospects for local communities. The ITN team went to see how Javelin Global Commodities is working to help the modern coal industry provide efficient energy solutions.
